BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is incredibly proud to offer the Foundation Match via the Hospital Family Matching Gift Program. Since 2004, this program has empowered visionary medical and research experts at BC Children’s to amplify their significant contributions to BC Children’s Hospital and Research Institute.

By joining this program, you become part of a powerful community that is driving the next bold leaps in children’s health care. Over the years, 430 donors have collectively raised over $26 million in funds.

Your act of kindness will have a mighty impact.

Here’s how the program works: When you donate $10,000 or more within a calendar year, the Foundation will match your gift with an additional $10,000. This means your contribution goes twice as far, doubling the impact and making a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families.

You have the power to decide where your impact is felt . Hospital Family members can direct their gift and match to a specific hospital or research fund, or to an endowment. Your donation can advance innovative research, purchase lifesaving equipment, provide vital training and education opportunities, recruit pediatric specialists and train the next generation of superstars—to name a few.

To date, over 1,300 transformative gifts have been granted through the Hospital Family Matching Gift Program. In 2023 alone, 92 participants contributed to the program. Donors represent 20 different areas across the Hospital and the Research Institute.

Who’s eligible?

This program is open to all staff affiliated with BC Children’s Hospital and the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute.

Program details

– Donations must be received in full by December 31st annually.

– Donations must be at least $10,000 and may be higher.

– Donations may be made as one lump sum or in multiple payments over the year.

– The Foundation can also set up pledge payments (e.g., $1,000/month X 10 months).

– Donations must come from a single person or their professional corporation (not from a group).

– Donations can be made via cheque, credit card, EFT or gift of securities.

– A charitable tax receipt will be issued for your donation(s). However, the Foundation Match is not a taxable benefit.

– The matching amount of $10,000 will be transferred into the designated fund upon completion of the full donation. This is done quarterly.

By giving through the Hospital Family Matching Gift Program, you will also become a part of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Circle of Care. This Circle recognizes those who generously support the hospital with annual donations of $10,000 or more. As a Circle of Care member, you will receive invitations to our signature events, a subscription to our publications, and recognition in the Hospital and at events.
