Prestigious distinction for charitable organizations demonstrates high standards in governance, accountability and transparency
Today, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation announces its accreditation under Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program. This achievement is awarded to Canadian charities and non-profits successfully demonstrating practices that reflect integrity and build public trust.
The Imagine Canada Standards Program is a Canada-wide set of shared standards for charities and non-profits designed to strengthen practices in five fundamental areas: board governance; financial accountability and transparency; fundraising; staff management; and volunteer involvement. To achieve accreditation, organizations must successfully complete a rigorous and in-depth application process evaluated by a group of volunteers from the sector.
“This accreditation reflects values that are part of our DNA, and that we’ve worked so hard to uphold throughout our history: accountability, transparency, integrity and efficiency.”

“This accreditation reflects values that are part of our DNA, and that we’ve worked so hard to uphold throughout our history: accountability, transparency, integrity and efficiency, to name a few,” said Lisa Hudson, Board chair, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “While we’re fortunate to already be a widely respected organization in BC and nationally, we are so pleased to now be part of the group of Canadian organizations that have earned this symbol of trust demonstrating our values and commitments.”
The goals of Imagine Canada’s Standards Program are to increase organizational excellence and transparency of charities and non-profits, and to strengthen public confidence in individual organizations and the sector as a whole. With this achievement, BC Children’s Hospital Foundation joins a national community of organizations dedicated to operational excellence.
“Receiving the Trustmark is a testament to an organization’s commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity, efficiency and transparency in their practices,” said Bruce MacDonald, President and CEO of Imagine Canada. “We are honoured to count these well-deserving recipients in Imagine Canada’s Standards Program community, and proud to join them in celebrating their remarkable achievement.”
